Description
No. 45 Tackleway is a late 18th century or early 19th century building that has been completely restored. It features new tile-hanging and a slate hipped roof. The north end, which was originally weatherboarded, has been tile-hung to match the rest of the building. The east side faces Tackleway and has three storeys, with a rendered ground floor and tile-hung upper floors. It has four windows, with the left-hand two bays slightly projecting. There is a three-storeyed canted bay in the center, all featuring restored sash windows with glazing bars. The left-hand side has a modern panelled door.
The west elevation overlooks the town and has four storeys, with a window arrangement of three plus two. All windows are restored sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor is rendered with tile-hanging above, and there is a French window with glazing bars on the ground floor. To the left on the first floor, there is a modern door with a hood on shaped brackets. The building was originally two houses and is included for its group value.
