Description
Torfield Cottage is an early 18th-century building, significantly restored and converted from three cottages into a single dwelling. It has two storeys and four windows. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is of brick. The roof is tiled and hipped. The windows are restored 2-light and 3-light casements with glazing bars. A plain central door is sheltered by a gabled tiled hood. Modern French windows have been added to the ground floor on the left and right. It is reputed that Titus Oates lived here or in a house on this site.
