Description
Torfield House is a building from around 1760 that hides a timber frame structure on the left, likely dating back to the 16th century. The exterior is stuccoed, featuring a low parapet and a tiled hipped roof. The house is two storeys high and has five bays, with three-light sash windows in exposed cases that include glazing bars. Above the central doorway, there is a rectangular panel on the first floor, and the entrance is framed by a large open porch supported by Tuscan columns and an entablature. The building also has brick chimney stacks. Torfield House is part of a group with Old Hastings House and its garden walls and gates.
