Description
This is a late 18th-century rectory, which was later re-faced with stucco during the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with stucco to the front. The sides and rear are red brick, with some parts tile-hung at the rear. It has a slate roof.
The rectory is two storeys and has an attic, with four bays, the central two projecting slightly. In the 19th century, canted bays with sash windows were added to the front, and the facade retains the original doorcase, featuring pilasters, an open pediment, a semi-circular fanlight above the door, and a six-panel door. The windows are sash windows, with margin lights to the end bays; some of the glazing bars are missing. Long and short quoins mark the corners. The rear features a round-headed sash window with glazing bars. The slate roof has two Victorian gabled dormers and a parapet.
A low garden wall runs along the front, constructed of red brick with plain stone coping. It has brick piers, with plain stone caps and iron gates at the centre. The wall was restored in 1965.
The interior has not been inspected. The rectory is designated for its architectural interest as a handsome late 18th-century building with 19th-century modifications, and for its group value due to its close association with the adjacent Grade II listed All Saints Church.
