Description

Isabella Cottages, dated 1837 as indicated by a datestone in the centre of the first floor, are a pair of cottages forming part of a larger group. The cottages are constructed with pebbledash walls, a parapet, and a decorative band at cornice level, all topped by a slate roof with gabled ends. They are two storeys in height and two windows wide, with windows set in plain raised surrounds. The windows in number 41 retain their original glazing bars, while those in number 39 have been replaced with modern top-opening lights. Elliptically headed doorways are located to the left and right, one featuring a modern glazed door (number 39) and the other a glazed and panelled door (number 41), both with fanlights above. A central rendered chimney stack rises above the cottages. Numbers 39 and 41 form a group with number 43, which is of local interest only.
