Description

Poundgreen Farmhouse is a hall house that has been converted into a farmhouse. It dates from the early 16th century and was extended in the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 18th century and the 19th century. The building is mostly constructed of brick, featuring vitreous headers in some areas, and part of it is timber framed. It has an old tiled gabled roof and is designed in an L-shape with two framed bays and an outshot at the rear. The farmhouse has two storeys and flanking chimneys on the left, along with a 17th-century chimney on the ridge in the center.

The south front displays toothed brick eaves and has three irregular bays with three-light small pane casements from the 19th century, with similar but taller windows on the ground floor. One window on the right has been blocked, and to the left of this is a 20th-century small pane glazed door. Above the door is a date stone inscribed with "P'B." The east front features a gable with one bay, a 1730 date, and a bay of two-light 19th-century iron casements to the right of the center. There is a planked entrance door to the left, topped with a pent tile roof supported by carved brackets. Inside, there is a large inglenook chimney and some exposed timber framing.
