Description
Pierce's Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 16th century, with early 17th century, 19th century, and mid-20th century additions. It features a rendered timber frame and an old tile roof. The building consists of five framed bays, with two later wings added to the rear. It is two storeys high with a garret. There are three stacks: one ridge stack off-centre to the left, and two stacks behind the ridge, one off-centre to the left and the other to the right.
On the first floor, there are two three-light casement windows located off-centre to the left and right. The ground floor has two three-light casement windows flanking a 20th-century door, which is also off-centre to the left and has a gabled timber porch. Additionally, there is a six-panelled door at the right-hand end, with the upper two panels glazed and a gabled timber porch.
Inside, the two right-hand bays are from the 16th century, while the two left-hand bays date to the early 17th century. The interior features chamfered and stopped beams and joists, a 17th-century staircase on the first floor, and a reused 17th-century moulded newel post located in the corridor wall.
