Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located on the grass verge, 100 metres east of the junction with Bath Road. It has been re-set and features incised Roman lettering. The east face of the milestone indicates distances to Maidenhead (9 miles), Colnbrook (18 miles), and London (35 miles). The west face shows distances to Reading (4 miles), Newbury (21 miles), and Bath (73 miles).
