Description
Hill House is a house built in the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It features painted stucco and a hipped old tile roof, with a rectangular plan. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement. The south front has slightly projecting roughcast quoins and three small two-light dormer windows with flat leaded tops. It consists of five bays with sash windows that have glazing bars, all under stucco drip moulds. In the centre bay, there is a late 19th-century half-glazed door beneath a porch supported by panelled posts and topped with a flat cornice. To the left, there is a small single-storey extension with a hipped roof, which has two semi-circular-headed windows with small panes and a blocked centre panel. Inside, the house contains a staircase that is contemporary with the building, featuring four dog-leg flights, turned balusters, a moulded handrail, and moulded tops to the newel posts.
