Description
Dowlesgreen Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-17th century, with extensions added in the late 17th century and late 18th century, and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a combination of timber framing and painted brick. It has a two-cell T-plan layout with a stair turret at the rear and extensions on either side. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic. There are flank chimneys, one on the left with an offset head, and another at the rear with an offset head and a toothed cornice.
The west front is symmetrical with two bays. It includes a 20th-century flat roof dormer that has two casements. The ground floor features wide sash windows set in architrave frames, with segmental heads above them. There is an early 20th-century closed, gabled tile porch that has a six-panelled door, with the top four panels being glazed. Inside, there is a newel stair that rises the full height of the building.
