Description

The barn and horse engine threshing house at Lillibrooke Manor is an 18th-century structure, with the threshing house added in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has an old tiled roof, which is half-hipped on the barn, gabled on the midstrey, and hipped on the threshing house. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of nine framed bays, an aisle, and two midstreys located in the third and sixth bays. There is a canted, open-sided, framed threshing house situated between the midstreys on the east front. Inside, the building has queen post roof trusses, while the remainder of the frame has been altered to accommodate grain storage silos. The threshing house includes posts that are braced to the roof plates, a central post, and radiating rafters. This structure is included for its group value.
