Description
Nos 5 and 6 Thames Street are early 18th century buildings, possibly a refronting of a timber frame structure, with a slight overhang and a stucco facade. They stand three storeys tall and feature a deep moulded boxed cornice and a steep gable end roof covered with tiles, which includes two gabled dormers. There are four windows with no glazing bars in flush architraves; the first-floor windows have friezes and pedimented cornices. The ground floor has a modern shop front, and there is a lead rainwater head and downpipe. These buildings, along with No 2 Thames Street, Knights Tavern, and Nos 5 to 16 and 18 to 25 Thames Street, create an important group.
