Description

The barn at Leyfield Wood, located on Holly Lane in Ashampstead, dates back to the 17th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It features a timber frame supported by angle braces, with a brick and flint plinth and brick nogging on the eastern side, along with weatherboarding. The roof is half hipped and covered with tiles, and there is a 20th-century gabled cart entrance that projects to the north. The barn consists of four framed bays, with cart entrances located to the north and south in the second bay from the west. Inside, the structure has queen strut trusses with transverse braces, along with 20th-century purlins and rafters.
