Description
The cart and cattle shed at Wawcott Farm, located 50 metres west of the farmhouse, dates from the 17th or 18th century. It features brick walls at the rear and sides, with a timber-framed structure and a hipped thatched roof. This long, low building consists of three main bays, with shorter end bays and a later two-bay addition to the south. The west side is open, supported by timber posts that are braced to the roof ties. One of the main ties has a carved date of 1756. The roof structure includes trusses with simple queen struts leading to high ties and clasped purlins, along with lower butt purlins and curved horizontal braces extending from the wall plates to the main ties.
