Description

This is a cartshed dating from around 1700, located to the rear of Netton Farmhouse in Durnford. The structure features a cob rear wall set on flint footings, with the rest of the building being timber framed and topped with a tiled roof. The west end has been rebuilt in brick. The cartshed consists of six bays, although the bay closest to the farmhouse is now enclosed. It has jowled posts with long curved braces connecting to the ties, as well as crown posts and straight braces supporting the clasped purlins and collars. The ties are lap dovetailed to the wall plate, and the framing is inconsistently numbered. The roof is designed with a half-hipped shape.
