Description
32 and 34 Market Place are two buildings that share one occupation. Number 32 features an early 19th-century refronting of an older structure. It stands three storeys tall with three windows, constructed of grey brick. The building has a parapet with a wooden sign-board above it. The second-floor windows have ganged flat brick arches and are mostly flush framed with some featuring glazing bars. The original bay windows on the first floor have been replaced by three-light windows, and there is a modern shopfront. Inside, there is a notable 18th-century staircase.
Number 34 has a late 18th-century refronting of an older building. It also rises three storeys and has three windows, made of grey brick with red brick dressings. The building features a parapet and gauged flat red brick arches over slightly recessed sash windows, which have exposed boxing and large panes. This building too has a modern shopfront.
