Description

The Old Waggon & Horses is an early 19th-century building that features a refronting of a 17th-century structure. It stands two-and-a-half storeys tall and has two windows. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and the front is finished in stucco with a dentil eaves cornice that extends around the gabled east bay. There is a dormer sash window in the gable, and the upper sash windows are slightly recessed, with two and three lights and glazing bars. The entrance has a wooden doorcase with pilasters that support a projecting hood; the doorway includes a rectangular fanlight and a panelled door. At the rear of the building, there is 17th and 18th-century timber framing with brick nogging.

Inside, the second floor retains a 17th-century staircase featuring square newels, one of which has a ball finial, closed strings, and turned balusters.
