Description
The Old St Nicholas Rectory, part of Nos 2 and 3, is an early 19th-century building that was refronted from an older structure identified as 'The Rector's House' on a map from 1768. It is two storeys tall and features a double front with three windows. The roof is covered with flipped tiles and includes three attic dormers. The building is constructed of brick, with gauged flat red brick arches above architraved sash windows that have glazing bars; the outer bays also include sidelights. The entrance has a wooden modified Tuscan doorcase with a doorway that features a patterned fanlight. Inside, there is a mid-18th-century dog-leg staircase with closed strings, a moulded handrail, turned balusters, and square newels. The interior also includes reused 17th-century panelling and some rough 18th-century dado.
