Description
This building, located at Parsonage Green, is a cottage and barn that has been converted into a cottage and garage. It dates from the early 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 20th century. The structure features a timber frame with brick infill and is weatherboarded on the north side, topped with a thatched roof. The building has a long plan running from north to south, consisting of a two-bay barn at the north end, a two-bay 17th-century section in the center, and a one-bay 20th-century addition at the south end. It is one and a half stories tall, with three square eaves dormers on the west side, an off-centre ridge chimney to the north, and an end chimney to the south.
On the west elevation, all windows are 20th-century metal casements. The garage, which is weatherboarded, is located to the left. There are irregularly arranged windows with 1, 3, 1, and 2 light casements to the left of the center. A lean-to porch supported by timber posts is positioned to the right of the center, featuring a boarded door flanked by two 2-light casements, with three additional 2-light casements to the right. The north elevation includes garage doors in the gable end.
