Description
Shaw Farm Barn is a Grade II listed building, constructed in the early 18th century and incorporating some earlier timbers. It features a timber-framed structure clad in weatherboarding, resting on a brick plinth, and is topped with an old tiled roof. The barn consists of five bays and has upright posts with an 18th-century cut profile. The frame is made of thin scantling and includes diagonal braces. The queen posts are slightly angled and support a collar beam, with two tiers of through purlins and a ridgepiece. The wall frame displays a pattern of diagonal braces. The east end of the barn has later superimposed plank panelling, while the west end has had the central part of the wall frame replaced by poles.
