Description

The Old Rectory is a house dating to the 17th century, with additions from the early 19th century and early 20th century. It is constructed of brick, timber framing with brick nogging, with some rendered areas and tile hanging. The roof is tiled, and the front features three gables and four chimney stacks. The house is two storeys and has an attic. The original central block dates to the 17th century and has a timber-framed first floor and a tile-hung gable. Early 20th-century mullioned and transomed windows are arranged as two on the ground floor, one on the first floor, and one in the gable, of this central block. To the right is an early 20th-century block, also with mullioned and transomed windows on both floors, and a door to the left. A left-hand block, dating to the early 19th century, has a single-pane glazing bar sash window on each of the ground and first floors, and a 20th-century mullioned and transomed window above the door on the right. The front door is six-panelled, with a plain rectangular fanlight, a simple doorcase, and a bracketed flat hood.
