Description

This is a pair of gate piers and approximately 2 metres of wall located to the east and west of the piers on the edge of Park Lane, 162 metres west of the entrance to the churchyard. The structure dates from the early 18th century and is made of brick. The piers feature a stone moulded plinth and corniced caps. The north and south faces of the piers are panelled in brickwork, while the east and west faces have brick pilasters that form the gate hangings or attachments to the walls, topped with stone corniced caps on scrolls. The walls to the east and west are 2 metres high, rising to 3 metres at the junction with the piers, and are constructed in Flemish bond brickwork with brick-on-edge capping.
