Description

This lamp standard, located in the center of the paved area at the western end of Bevois Street, was erected in 1882. It was a gift from a local benefactor to commemorate his son reaching adulthood that year. The lamp standard features a cast iron fluted column with a plinth supported by four dolphins. It is also decorated with lion heads and female masks.
