Description

Nos 27 to 33 on Christchurch Road, built around 1840, form a well-preserved stucco terrace as part of Whitley Crescent. These three-storey houses, each with two bays and a basement, feature a string course at the first-floor level, eaves, and a hipped slate roof. Most windows are glazing bar sashes, except for those on the second floors and the upper sashes of No 27. The ground floor windows are set in segmental-headed recesses, while the doors are located in deep recesses with fluted quadrant jambs, a key-pattern frieze, and radiating fanlights. The excellent panelled doors have a large central rosette and are similar across the properties, except for No 27, which has been replaced by a poor modern door. Nos 27-31 retain decorative fleur-de-lys railings.
