Description

Whitley Villa is an early 19th-century building located on Christchurch Road. It is a two-storey structure made of red brick with grey brick headers and features a slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends, which are treated with parapets between the chimneys. The left two bays are original and have glazing bar sash windows, with the first-floor window on the left lengthened to accommodate a balcony and featuring marginal glazing. The entrance has a wide segmental-headed door surround with channelled quoins and a reeded surround, topped by a radiating fanlight and a four-panel door. To the right, there is a mid to late 19th-century canted bay, which is made of plain red brick and has modern casement windows. The property includes a contemporary staircase and is enclosed by fleur-de-lys railings and gates.
