Description
This is a terrace of 49 houses, numbered 1 to 49, on Warrington Crescent, dating from the 1860s. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a stucco finish to the ground floor, and have a Welsh slate roof. Each house is generally two bays wide, with No. 2 having three bays. Quoins are visible on No. 1. The houses feature projecting Ionic porches, some of which have been damaged, containing panelled doors with overlights. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes set within vermiculated quoined surrounds. First-floor windows are casement windows within pedimented surrounds incorporating attached fluted Corinthian columns; the pediments of Nos. 5 to 15 have been lost. A balustraded balcony is present. Further sash windows are located above the first floor, set within architraves. The building has a scrollwork frieze and cornice, above which is a further cornice leading to the attic. The roof is of a Mansard style. An iron railing is located at basement level. The terrace was undergoing renovation at the time of the most recent inspection.
