Description

The Colonnade Hotel, incorporating Warrington Lodge, is a mid-19th century hotel building. It is constructed of brick, with a stuccoed exterior and channelled details to the ground floor. The roof is covered in Welsh slate. The building is three storeys high, with an attic, and features a two-bay breakforward, with recessed side wings containing two-storey bows. Quoins are present on the outer bays and the breakforward. The ground floor centre has sash windows, while the outer bays contain tripartite sashes set in vermiculated quoined surrounds. The first floor features cross windows flanked by attached Corinthian columns with dentilled pediments to the centre, with a balustraded balcony above. Further tripartite sashes are found on the second floor, with side bays that have been altered. A second floor cornice incorporates scrollwork frieze and dentils, with a further cornice to the attic, which now has 20th-century dormer windows. A side entrance on Warrington Crescent is accessed via a projecting Ionic porch.
