Description
The Chequers Public House, located at 48 Watling Street in Fenny Stratford, is an early recasing of a 17th-century building. It stands two storeys tall and is constructed of painted brick. The building features a gable end slate roof and a gutter cornice. It is raised on a stucco plinth and has a cellar. The façade includes two windows with flush framed glazing bar sashes; a tripartite window is located to the left on the ground floor, while to the right is a small rectangular pent-roof bay window that includes a cellar hatch. The entrance consists of a panelled and glazed door topped with a bracketed cornice hood, accessed by four steps.
