Description
Nos 49 and 51 Aylesbury Street is a building dating from around 1850. It is a long, low, two-storey block that has undergone some alterations in the 19th century. The structure is made of painted and stuccoed brick and features a low gable end slate roof. On the first floor, there is one glazing bar sash window and four later 19th-century canted bay windows, each with hipped slate roofs and finials. The ground floor has two double pilastered shop fronts that share a common frieze and blind box, with doors set in splayed recesses at the center of each shop front. This building is included for its group value, as it forms a group with No 43, The Maltsters Arms, and other nearby properties.
