Description
Fenny Lodge Former Stable Block is a late 18th century building with an early to mid 19th century extension, located on the east side of Simpson Road in Fenny Stratford. The structure is two storeys high, rough cast, and features a tiled mansard roof with brick end stacks. The front has three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, with a central area that appears to have a blocked former entrance. The windows are recessed glazing bar sashes with block sills.
To the south, there is a lower two-storey extension from the early to mid 19th century, which has a half hipped low slate roof and flat eaves. This extension includes one window on each floor, both 4 x 4 pane sashes, and a panelled door with a marginal glazed rectangular fanlight, set within a slender engaged column doorcase that features a frieze and cornice.
Connected to the south by a screen wall is the former stable or coach house, which is made of painted and roughcast brick with header eaves and a tiled roof set at right angles to the road. This section has two flush casements and a hatch above double doors, along with a hatch over gauge doors in the gable end facing the road.
