Description
17 Market Square is a building from the early to mid-19th century. It has two storeys and features two windows on the first floor. The roof is slate with brick chimneys, and the front is rendered. On the first floor, there are two three-light sash windows with cambered heads. The ground floor has two windows, separated by a single light window beneath a depressed arch that has a keystone, which replaces a former door. To the left, there is a doorway with a cambered head. All windows and the door have stucco heads and keys. The north-east corner of the building is chamfered and includes a roll that is stopped at the top. There is a doorway leading to the garden, which has an open pediment on brackets, panelled pilasters, and a blocked fanlight. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 36 to 40 (even) Church Street, Stratford House, Mill Lane, and all the listed buildings in Market Square.
