Description

A pair of early 19th-century houses situated on Gravel Walk. The houses are constructed of coursed rubble stone with a slate roof. Each house has three bays arranged over two storeys. The central doors are set within flat-roofed open porches and feature pointed arched glazed panels. Above the doors is a blank panel. The sash windows have an unusual Gothick glazing pattern; five panels wide, with narrow outer and centre panes, and the remaining two panes being wider with pointed heads. The narrow panes are divided into six horizontal sections, while the wider panes are divided into four. The roof has deep eaves and is a double design with walls linking each side, framed by projecting verges that conceal the inner roof pitches. There are six stacks, situated on the gables and party walls.
