Description

Limetrees and April Cottage is a house and attached cottage located on South Street in Castlethorpe. The main structure dates from the 18th century, with 19th-century additions. The building is constructed from coursed rubblestone, while the right-hand addition is made of brick. Both sections have slate roofs.

Limetrees features three bays and two storeys, with the two-storey brick addition on the right. It has sash windows, with four panes on the ground floor and three panes on the first floor. There is a six-panel door located between the right-hand bays, which is topped by a fanlight and has a moulded hood supported by elaborate double scroll brackets. The building has gable end stacks and one stack located between the left-hand bays.

April Cottage, to the left, consists of one bay and two storeys, with a projecting one-storey wing to the north. It has a six-panel door with a simple hood and a gable stack.
