Description
Castle House is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone with an old tile roof. The building has a letter-L plan and is two storeys high. The southwest front features a gabled projection on the left side, which includes a large stepped stone chimney at the angle. The right wing has three irregular bays and a raking stone buttress between the right-hand bays. The windows are a mix of 19th-century casements and casements from around 1970. A 17th-century door has been relocated to the right of the stack. Inside, the right-hand room contains a fireplace with a four-centred moulded arch and jambs. The central room has chamfered cross beams, while the main fireplace beam is cambered and chamfered, although the rear wall of the stack has been opened up. There is also a 17th-century door in the cellar.
