Description

The gazebo at the foot of the garden behind No. 30 on St Margaret's Street in Rochester is an 18th-century structure. It is built of red brick, which has been significantly renewed, and features a pyramidal roof covered with Kent tiles. The gazebo is a single storey elevated on a high plinth and has a canted angle at the rear. It includes two 12-pane hornless sash windows that provide extensive views over the River Medway. This gazebo is one of the few remaining from the 18th and 19th century villa development along St Margaret's Street and is prominently positioned when viewed from below, particularly from Love Lane to the west.
