Description
No. 14 Prospect Row is a house built around 1730, showcasing a Mid Georgian style. It is constructed of English bond brick, and although the roof is not visible, the building features three storeys and a basement with a six-window range. The front is wide and has a parapet with a thin brick cornice, along with brick segmental-arched openings. The main entrance, located slightly to the right, has square posts supporting a flat canopy, antae, and a narrow overlight above a six-panel door, where the top two panels are glazed. To the left, there is a lower doorway leading to a through passage with a boarded door. The windows are late 19th-century hornless six-over-one pane sashes set in exposed frames, with blind windows in the outer bay on the second floor. The interior has not been inspected. This house is notable for its use of older English bond brick, which contrasts with the Flemish-bonded No. 15 next door. Prospect Row was started around 1705 and completed by 1756, forming part of a varied terrace of early to mid Georgian houses.
