Description
No. 13 Prospect Row is a house dated 1742, located in Gillingham. It is built of red Flemish bond brick and features a brick party wall stack, with the roof not visible. This building is designed in the Early Georgian style and has a double-depth plan.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a basement, with a two-window range. The front has a parapet that is rendered, and there is a small segmental-arched passage doorway on the left with a door that has six flush panels. To the right, there is a prominent doorcase with pilasters supporting an entablature that features triglyphs and a modillion cornice, leading to a door with six raised panels and two glazed panels. The windows have rubbed brick flat arches and horned 2/2-pane sashes.
Inside, the house includes an entrance hall with a left-hand dogleg stair, six-panel doors, and panelled shutters. Prospect Row was constructed between 1705 and 1756 and is part of a notable mixed terrace of early to mid-18th century Georgian houses.
