Description

Solent Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage that has been altered in the mid-19th century. It is located on the south side of High Street, Yarmouth. The cottage is constructed of painted brick with an old tiled roof, featuring a modillion eaves cornice, a band between floors, and a plinth. It is two storeys high with attics, and has a flat-roofed dormer. The first floor contains a 16-pane sash window with jalousies. The ground floor holds two mid-19th-century sashes with only vertical glazing (one inserted), and a doorcase to the right with a flat hood supported by brackets, leading to a six-panel door with the top four panels glazed.
