Description

Grove Place is a pair of cottages built around 1820 in the Gothic style. The exterior is finished in stucco with incised lines, and the cottages have a slate roof with end paired moulded brick chimney pots, although one chimney pot on the right-hand stack was missing at the time of the survey. The gables feature fretted wooden bargeboards with pendants and finials. The cottages are two storeys tall with attics in the gable ends and have paired Gothic-headed casements. The central doorcase has a reeded surround with paterae, a flat hood supported by brackets, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed.
