Description
Merriefields is a house located in Brighstone, dating from the early 19th century, with a rear extension added around 1870. The front range is constructed of ironstone rubble, featuring brick dressings and quoins, topped with a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and two windows. The first floor showcases 9-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has 12-pane sash windows, with arcading above the ground floor windows. The end facing the road includes one 9-pane sash window on the first floor and one 12-pane sash window on the ground floor, along with a wooden trelliswork porch. The entrance features a round-headed doorcase with a six-panelled door. At the rear, there is a later three-storey range made of brick, which includes casement windows.
