Description

This is an early 19th century row of three-storeyed houses, originally part of a larger development that included number 64 George Street. The frontages are rendered with cement and feature a stucco cornice and a panelled parapet with coping. Traces of stucco decoration are visible on the ground floors. The second floor has two windows per house, recessed sash windows, some retaining original glazing bars, set within moulded stucco surrounds. The first floor has a three-light sash bay window in each house, with later glazing bars and plain strips; it has a frieze and cornice. Late Victorian and modern shop fronts occupy the ground floor, although number 13 retains its original pilasters, frieze, and cornice. A recessed panelled door is also present. Numbers 13 to 17, together with number 64 George Street, form a notable group.
