Description

Nos 2 and 2A on Melville Street date from around 1840. This two-storey building has a rough cast exterior and a gable facing the street, featuring plain bargeboards. To the east, there is one window bay with a fascia board and a parapet. The building includes a three-light casement window with a dripstone and an oeuil de boeuf set in a triangle below the gable. The Victorian shop front, which may have originally served as a public house, has two windows, a central door, cast iron columns, a bracketed fascia board, and a cornice. Nos 1 to 5A form a group.
