Freemantle Lodge

Freemantle Lodge is a late 18th-century lodge that was altered in the 19th century and is currently derelict. The building features walls made of squared rubble laid to courses and has a slate roof with a red brick central chimney. Originally, it consisted of two rooms and was one storey high; however, the walls were raised in the 19th century to create attics, during which the interior underwent significant alterations.

The north elevation, which is pebbledashed, includes a projecting gable porch with a Gothick stone doorway, flanked by Gothick windows, and a centrally located 19th-century casement window above. On the west elevation, there is a blocked window that features a projecting surround and a keystone. The lodge is adjacent to a park wall just east of Freemantle Gates and is enclosed by heavy iron railings leading from the forecourt to the north.
