Description
Arbutus Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located in Arreton. It is built of brick, with the front elevation stuccoed, and features a tiled roof and end brick chimneystacks. The cottage has two storeys and attics in the gable ends, with three windows. The first-floor windows are sashes with 12 panes, except for the central window which has 6 panes, while the ground floor windows have 16 panes. The central entrance features a 6 flush panelled door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed, and is topped by deep pediments and a weatherhood supported by console brackets. The property has cast iron guttering adorned with lions' head masks. At the rear, there is an outshut, and to the right side, there is a single-storey 19th-century extension with one sliding casement window.
