Description
Arreton Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has been altered in the 20th century. It features painted brickwork, with the rear wall constructed from structural timber framing made up of square panels and some diagonal tension bracing. The cottage has a half-hipped thatched roof topped with a central brick chimneystack. It is a lobby entrance house with one storey and attics, and it has two windows. The windows on the ground floor are 8-pane sashes with cambered heads, while the two modern casement windows have eyebrows above them. The central doorcase includes a modern plank door with a diamond-shaped light and a porch with trellis work. Additionally, there is a one-storey brick outbuilding that forms an L shape, featuring queen struts visible in the end gable.
