SZ58NW ARRETON STREET 1353-0/2/42 The Old Stable shop Arreton Manor

GV II

Formerly stabling, now shop and museum. C18 and C19 altered C20. 3 builds. Centre part C18 of island stone rubble with ashlar quoins and slate roof, half-hipped to left. 1 C19 fixed sash window. Right hand side has fanlight over stone door to right hand side. Centre has introduced bow window of C19 type. Left hand side has fixed mullioned window. South part is of lower elevation. 2 storeys Island stone rubble with slate roof. 2 later windows to 1st floor, the left hand one in old quoined surround. Ground floor has later garage door to left, quoined stable door to centre and fixed 4 pane casement to right in quoined surround. To north is C19 addition of clunch blocks with half-hipped slate roof. To this is attached a C19 1 storey brick portion with hipped slate roof. Interior retains old wooden stall partitions and feeding troughs. Deep chamfered spine beam. Through purlin roof with diagonal tension braces.
