Description
The Cottage is a mid 17th century cottage that has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a brick underbuilding of timber frame, painted white, and has a half hipped thatched roof with a decorative ridge and an axial brick stack. The cottage has a lobby entry plan and is a single storey building with attics, presenting a four bay front. The entrance is an off-centre six panelled door located under a 19th century rustic gabled porch with a thatched roof and trellis sides. This is flanked by two 20th century two light casement windows with segmental heads, and to the right is an additional inserted two light casement window from the 20th century. The roof features two two light dormers at eaves level, each with gabled thatched roofs. All windows are fitted with leaded lights. Although an interior inspection has not been possible, a previous description noted exposed timber framing and a brick fireplace with a bressumer above.
