Description

The Village Hall in Niton and Whitwell is a building that has served multiple purposes over the years. Originally constructed around 1760 as a malthouse, it was converted into a Baptist Chapel in 1823, became a school in 1848 when the Baptists relocated, transformed into a working man's club in 1913, and has been used as a village hall since 1936. The structure is made of coursed stone rubble and features a slate roof. It is a single storey building with five windows, which have fixed sashes with intact glazing bars, alternating between 16 and 12 panes. The left side of the building has a gable end with kneelers, while the right side includes a hipped three-light dormer.
