Description
Ye Olde Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century or earlier, located on Church Street in Niton. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a thatched roof with an off-central brick chimneystack. The building is mainly two storeys tall, with a one-storey addition on the left side. The cottage has a total of six windows arranged in a 2:4 pattern. It includes eyebrow dormers with triple casements. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century casement windows with older cambered head linings above, along with an original stone mullioned window. The left-hand addition has a fixed six-pane window and a triple leaded light casement on the side elevation. The entrance features a mid-19th-century doorcase with a tented canopy and trelliswork on the sides, leading to a two-panelled door.
