Description
Niton Manor is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was altered and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble and features a slate roof with two brick chimneystacks. The building has two storeys and attics in the gable end, with four windows. The gable end includes kneelers, and the windows are primarily 19th-century sashes, along with two later canted bays on the ground floor. The right side gable end has stone mullioned windows with hood moulding on both the ground and first floors. At the rear, there is a two-storey 19th-century range with two 19th-century casements. Niton Manor is noted as one of the original Domesday Manors, and the date 1416 is reportedly carved into one of the oak beams in the attic, with cockshead hinges also mentioned.
